Talk to any local Upholstery or Seamstress or Tailor shop, the Upholstery may not have any clothes fashion books or info handy, but they prolly sew as much or more varied designs and materials than the other two do.

My Daughter is 3 months old and long (I blame that on her 6'6" tall Father) but anyway, since birth we have struggled to find babygrows (I think they are called onsies in America - they are long armed and legged and have the feet in) that fit her, not so much her length but her foot size. I end up having to cut the feet off which isn't a problem when they are cheap but some cost a lot of money. If I buy her 6-9 months then the feet tend to fit her but the rest of the outfit is massive on her as she is pretty lean.
I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this problem? It seems that baby clothing manufacturers assume that all babies are chubby, short and have little feet.
Yep... little Lucy is 6months and is already taller than an average 9 month old (and skinny)!!!! We use sleeping bags but I have to cut them open at the bottom and add more to make them long enough! As for grow suits... I mostly use the ones without feet and just put sock's on her. We occasionally find one that fits properly.
The brand name baby dolls I know of are: Little Mommy, American Girl's Bitty Baby, Chou Chou, Baby Annabell, Baby Born, and Baby Alive. My little cousin owns a Little Mommy doll (one of the non-interactive versions) and an interactive Baby Alive "Learns How to Potty" doll. We exchanges gifts every year and she asked me if I could get her more doll clothes for her dolls for the holidays. I was looking online, there are a lot of really cute baby doll clothes from the makers of Little Mommy and Baby Alive but I also spotted some nice clothes made by the makers of the other above dolls that my cousin doesn't own. All the manufacturers only make the doll clothes intended for their dolls so I wasn't sure if I could buy outfits from other companies and still have them fit my cousin's dolls. Does anybody know of like a "guidebook" for doll clothes? Example: (not actually a factual example) Bitty Baby clothes fit Little Mommy and Chou Chou dolls. Chou Chou clothes fit Baby Alive and Bitty Baby dolls, etc, etc. It would kind of be like what Rock Band controllers work with the Guitar Hero and what Guitar Hero controllers work with Rock Band, for those looking to mix and and match games and controllers. If you get what I mean, it is basically the same thing.

Go to EBay, look at some of the handmade, new clothes. They have them for all sizes and dolls. Maybe you could also find a retired or collector's edition outfit.
