They say that your baby should wear one layer of clothes more then yourself, but my baby always seems to be to hot!
I worry that he may get too cool as he really only seems to be comfortable when naked (sans diaper).
But if i put a top on him, I worry about him overheating.
So is it better for him to be potentially too warm in a singlet or too cool without one on?
i was told by a nurse its better for a baby to be too cool than too warm, especially at night, as overheating is one of the risks associated with SIDS.

My son is 3 months old and just got his 3 month shots today [4 of them] and he's got a 99.3 temperature [which his doctor said is normal] but he's being fussy which is very rare for him! He never cries.
He got the shots at 10:30 this morning and now it's 10:40pm. so it's been exatly 12 hrs. He slept most of the day after the shots .. but now it's bedtime and he's being fussy. I feel so bad for the little guy :[
My house temperature is 78º .. and I have him dressed in some footed pajamas .. should I put him in something cooler since he has a fever?? Or should I leave him bundled up? [it's what he usually sleeps in at night].
He's never been fussy before, so I know it's some reaction to the shots. I'm just wondering if I have him dressed too warm to go to bed? [since he's running a slight fever].
Should I put him in a onsie with a light blanket rather than the pajamas [to make him cooler?]
I've already given him a small dose of Infant Tylenol.
thanks! :]
Kristel - the medicines were taken off of the shelf because the dosage directions were wrong, there wasn't anything wrong with the actual medication that was on the shelves.
My sons Pediatrician [who was also my husbands Pediatrician when he was a kid] said to give him Infant Tylenol, he's been in the business for over 30 years .. I figure he knows what he's doing :]
Hey everyone --
thank's for all your answers! I changed my bundle of joy into a gown and tucked him in a silk blanket, and he's sleeping like a baby :]
Whew, not looking forward to anymore shots! That wasn't fun .. he cried and I cried. I think it hurt me worse than him! :]
Thanks again for all the answers!
It is more than likely from the shots, and his legs are probably a little sore from them too...That dose of Tylenol should kick in and help him sleep...I wouldn't change his clothes since he's got such a low fever, it's more likely that he's just feeling crummy from the shots more than the fever bothering him. So far, you're doing all the right things...it is so hard as a new mom especially, when your baby isn't feeling well, but he should be feeling better soon! Just try to comfort him as much as you can, once that Tylenol kicks in he'll be a happy camper! You can also try moving his legs around some so they don't get stiff (like the motion of pedaling a bike)...best of luck, hope your little guy is feeling better soon!
My husband likes the house cool at 65-70 degrees. We have a newborn and I am concerned about taking her clothes off and giving her a bath in those cool temps. What is an ok room temp for an infant bath?
I'm asking about room temp not water temp..
When mine was little I used a little electric space heater in the bathroom. If you don't have one, just turn up the heat temporarily. When you're done he can open up the windows for a few to cool it back down. Or if it's warm there I guess do the opposite. Maybe in that case you can block off one part of the house and open the windows, and your husband can stay in the other part until you're done.

Young American Store » The New Generation Of Parents Want Cool ...
Today’s moms and dads have their own idea about what is cool when it comes to fashion. The fashions are set by the teenagers and young adults. The baby designs of today feature big screen prints and other alternative styles. This group of new parents are seeking things much different than that of parents of yesteryear. They want cool baby gifts that more closely mimmick their own clothing styles.
There is something very boring going on in the retail baby clothing market. That is that baby clothes have not changed much at all in the last thirty years or more. Pastel pinks and baby blues are still commonplace. There is no shortage of sporty little footballs and cute little flowers. The retail baby clothes marketplace as a whole is really rather stagnant and uninteresting. Most bigger kids fashions seem to more closely reflect the more alternative designs, but most of the infant stuff looks like it did in the seventies.
