Where can I get infant 'rock' clothing?
100% Organic Cotton Onesie - Retro Guitar Bodysuit

My sister just had baby boy and I want to get the little guy some badass rocker clothing. Some hard rock stuff, Black Label Society, Slipknot, ACDC, something along those lines. Is there a place that has stuff like that?

Toddler/infant yardsale moms?
Modeling

Okay, I'm organizing a yardsale and I plan to sell all of my daughter's infant stuff, so I am gonna list what I'm selling and prices I plan to set, will you tell me if you'll pay the price I listed? Everything is in excellent condition.

Fisher Price Sing along stage(mirror type thing, with microphone rattle that activates the lights and music) retail 50 dollars, yardsale 20-25

Leapfrog learning table, retail 45 dollars, yardsale 20

Days of Hunny Pooh pattern applies to the following:
Pack N Play w/ bassinet and changing station, retail 145, yardsale 50
Travel system, minus the car seat base, but can be used alone, stroller and infant seat, retail 160, yardale 50-65
Walker(the sit in kind) retail 50, yardsale 30(rarely used, she had a heck of a growth spurt right after it was purchased)

Cosco blue n white stand alone high chair- retail 40, yardsale 15

Travel foldable booster seat/high chair with both tray and plastic washable liner, retail 25, yardsale 10.

Winter Coats, size 2T, retail 20, yardsale 5

Snow pants, never used, still with tags, retail 15 yardsale 7

Toddler sized rocking chair, yardsale 5

Infant tub w/ working thermometer and infant sling yardsale 3 dollars

and of course, tons of clothes all in great condition 50 cents to 4 dollars according to piece or outfit.

So, think I can sell it all for what I'm asking? There will be other stuff there as well. Thanks!
Well, I can't afford to give away all the stuff I had to buy since no one was able to come to my baby shower( I literally got 2 outfits and the travel system from my aunt, we purchased everything else) and I guess I'm hoping I can sell it all for 450 dollars, else we're homeless next month O.o sigh, my fiancee was laid off in Jan and unable to collect unemployment until this month, and we're behind on rent.

Hey! I am also having a yard sale this weekend and I actually just posted a question recently because I was gonna price my son's swing at 50 (goes for 120 and it is like new) and a lot of people told me it was too high, etc. However, after much debate I figured I will price at 50 and see what happens. If the sale starts coming to an end and a lot of stuff hasn't sold then I can lower the price. I mean I figured if someone was out looking at baby swings they would know the price they go for and know that it is a deal.
Your right about not be able to afford to give stuff away. I am all for charity but dang some of that stuff costs lots of money and I feel even selling it for half off or 1/3 of the price is a steal for parents I mean I understand people saying donate to women in need but when people make the choice to have a baby they know it is costly and their are no free rides so I think it is helping them to sell it at a big discount.
Good luck on the sale!

Could you give me a couple of things that you might suggest that it is important to have before the baby arrives. I am making my own list but feel that I might be still missing things.

Thank you.
My list includes:

Clothing to take the baby out of hospital
Size 1 pampers (a couple of packs) w/baby wipes
Coat, socks, mittens, hats, and thick covering blanket
Bathtub
Bottle sets
Pacifiers
Vaporizer
Clothing sets for home
Full set pajamas and undershirts (long and short sleeves)
Washing cloths, bibs, towels and extra blankets
Stroller, car seat and plastic cover
Infant rocking/smoothing chair

baby soap or foam

Infant sleeping routines that WORK?
Jingle Bell Rock boys outfit

The only thing that works for my son (4 months) is cosleeping and I can't do it anymore-it's too uncomfortable and I want him to sleep on his own before he gets older and REALLY hates sleeping by himself.
I give him a bath with lavender soap, lotion him with lavender lotion, put on a clean diaper, clean clothes...I nurse him, rock him to sleep. When I lay him down he wakes up screaming. His hands go everywhere when he moves AT ALL and that wakes him up. He doesn't like to be swaddled either. I've tried back/side/belly and NONE of them work. I really need some help MOMS! Is my only choice "cry it out"

Up until the last part of putting him down asleep, everything is perfect in a bedtime routine.
Do exactly what you are doing, but put him down drowsy, not asleep. Basically, you are startling him, jsut as he goes down. Even if he dries when you put him down drowsy, just stand besdie the crib, talk soothingly to him, pat his face etc, and reassure him, but do not pick him backl up. It will take a few nights, but he will get used to it. Promise!
Just stick with it, you have to remain strong and sure of what you are doing and he will teach himself to fall asleep!

infant sleep patterns?
Built to Boogie

My 11mo old has always slept in her bed and through the night. We went to visit family and she had to sleep with me, now i cant get her to even nap in her own crib. She will be dead asleep and as soon as i lay her down she will wake up and freak out. I've tried everything bottle, my clothes in her crib, Baby Einstein rocking her to sleep i'm fresh out of ideas. HELP!!!!

That happened to my aunt. What she eventually did was she got the kid a bigger bed with rails on the one side and she had to fall asleep with her and then when she left she barricaded the bottom of the bed so the kid couldn't get out.

It sounds like a horrible situation, I wish you luck!

  • E m e r g i n g Q u a k e r: George Fox: Ponder in the Heart

Here again, we see the thoughts of early Quaker George Fox expressed through concrete imagery. Here, he draws us to visualize and dwell on Mary's "tender" care and clothing of the infant Jesus, advising us to be as tender in our thoughts as she was in her physical care for a fragile infant. Here, the vulnerability of Jesus is laid bare. Do we tenderly cradle his beliefs--in forgiveness, mercy, love, peace, joy, abundance, compassion--or do we dash his infant's head against a rock? It also strikes me that Mary ponders things "in her heart," fusing together the intellect and the emotions. In her body, the embodiment implied by her pregnancy and childbirth, she also grounds God in the physical. The infant Jesus stands for ideas that don't make sense--which are dismissed as impossible, as fantasies, as for "some other time," in the cold light of pure rationality, but which did make sense for the here and now to Fox and his followers and which do make sense when we enter the upside-down kingdom today. They speak to the deepest longings of our hearts. They are possible here and now. I visited a mosque a few years ago. It was a beautiful mosque, unlike the others I had visited, which were basement rooms in office buildings. This mosque was light filled and open and empty, with a deep, thick tawny Oriental rug on the floor. It had a stark, sacred feeling. Afterwards, our guides told us that Jesus was a revered figure in Islam and recounted a story from the Quran of the infant Jesus, under a date tree, speaking, in a miracle, to tell those denigrating Mary as a fallen woman that she was a virgin impregnated by the Holy Spirit. From birth, he protected his mother I thought at the time that in the Christian faith is a birth story lean in miracles--a visit by an angel, a virgin conception and a choir of angels breaking good tidings of great joy to a group of shepherds. But Jesus, the center of the story, is simply a human baby born in very humble circumstances. He is protected by his mother, a model of how we protect our faith with gentleness, mindfulness and nurture, a model of how he needs our care, how he needs us to be his body. Also, an infant can't survive with partial attention--it demands our dedication.
