there is no winter season in the philippines...only summer and the rainy season. it's a tropical country. it can get very warm for you esp. if your not used to the heat, the humidity -- even if it's in december, which is the coolest month there. and you'll be in cebu which could get very hot.
that said, there's a lot of "ukay-ukay" stores over there and they have winter clothing since these are stores which sell used clothing that come from the US.

I'm having a baby probably sometime in the next couple weeks or so and I have some clothes for the baby, but I'm not really sure what I need. I have tons of onesies, probably 10 or so, but I don't have a single pair of pants. I have two or three sleep and play outfits, I have a wrapper for sleeping in, and I have a sleep sack. I also have hats that are super cute, heh. I know I'm going to be buying extra socks, but what else is really necessary for an infant? Should I buy some pants? It's almost winter and I live in NYS, how necessary do you think a snow suit should be? Any and all advice is really helpful.
Yep, I have long and short sleeve onesies.
And yes, I've also got plenty of blankets, a carseat, a crib, bottles in several sizes, bottle cleaning supplies, a breast pump, a Bundle Me for the carseat, a diaper bag, water proof mats, sheets, and a Boppy. I really want to get a sling for the baby, but I dunno if I'll be able to afford it - they can be very expensive.
first of all congrats,k you need to take some soft pants to go with onesies and one winter coat to protect him from cold, diapers, hats to make him look cute,t shirts which make him look good and warmth.

Hi All,
I have bought couple of regular warm clothes but looking for special clothes that keeps infant head to toe very warm. Specially in car seat. I can't appropriately swaddle her when keeping in car seat and she got little bit cold as well. I want to make sure i don't repeat such mistakes. The baby has reflux issue so she has to sleep in upright position. We choose car seat for a while in home too. We are searching good rockers and swingers but they are too expensive. Warm cloth will help to save from cold and as season has started it would be cold terribly as moths pass by. Please help. Is there any dress that i can wear to car seat and my baby just slide into that dress and stay warm while in car seat? I want to protect her from head to toe.
Really good warm clothes for infant is what I am looking for. Please help me to find them. Please post links of any websites you know that I could check on internet. I am living in East Coast of USA.
Babies don't need to be kept too warm and overheating can be a factor in SIDS. Generally speaking babies need to wear as many layers as you are comfortable wearing. At night, using warm blanket sleepers as well as sleep sacks are useful for keeping babies warm enough. In the car seat, I believe something that may be helpful to you is a car seat cover like this one called a Bundle Me http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp ?productId=2266848. If you are having problems purchasing new items such as swings and rockers try second hand stores or resale shops. Many people only use these items a few times and you can typically get good used ones for a good price.
the weather is SO UNPREDICTABLE here. we could have 4 foot of snow, or it could be 60 degrees and sunny. i'm having a hard time deciding what sizes to buy for clothing. the doctor is GUESSING the baby will weigh around 8 pounds (based on ultrasound measurements).
no doubt about it, the weather will be MUCH nicer by mid June. if i buy newborn-3 month sizes will that get me up to the middle of June... and then buy 3-6 month sizes to get from mid-June through the end of August? i want to shop before all of the cute stuff is gone... it's bad enough that the stores have already clearanced out all of the winter stuff anticipating summer... ANY HELP would be appreciated!
Many children never fit into the 0-3 month size clothes. I would buy the 3-6 for the smallest size...and then go up from there. I had many clothes bought and given to me that my children could never wear. Especially if the doctor says that he will be 8 lbs. I am the mother of babies born weighing 8-1, 9-9, and 9-5. I would never recommend buying 0-3.
Im going to be having my baby in December so yup a winter baby. I've posted up a similiar question but I have another one about dressing your newborn in the winter. Did you put an onesie underneath their clothing during the day and night? What is the best way to dress your infant in the night so hes not cold or overheated. Or what should the room temperature be? And much clothes what I really need?
my 3 month old sleeps in a onsie sleeper (with feet), usually the ones with zippers but we have some with the buttons. her room is about 75 degrees at night and she sleeps just fine. if she is asleep in her bouncer then ill put a blanket over her chest and feet. I never put a blanket by her neck and arms unless we are outside and its chilly and i can keep a close eye on her. if we are outside and its chilly i also put a hat on her head and a warm blanket. if she's not wearing a sleeper then i make sure shes got socks on and a long sleeve shirt/onsie top and of course her pants on. remember that if you over dress your baby at night and anyother time...if they get too hot, that can cause them to get sick as well as being too cold. (pediatrician's advice to me). also you cant determine if the baby is too cold by touching it's feet or hands b/c when they are first born they cant control their body temperature
