I have looked everwhere and cant seem to find any websites that has really pretty baby clothes and that are newborn babys bring home clothes please if anyone knows of any let me know Also do you know of any where they have really pretty dresses like the big and frilly ones???????

You know my fav is the gab, or Old navy for run around clothes but for dresses I go to http://www.sandboxcouture.com they have the cutiest baby clothes, and little girl clothes, plus they sell Roxy for girls!! ITS so cute! as well the best top end dresses!

I was wondering what should i bring my newborn home from the hospital in. im a first time mom and never did this before. its warm here where i live but are you supposed to keep them warm anyways/

Overdressing your baby is thought to be a cause of SIDS. My rule of thumb with my kids was they wear what I am wearing. If we go outside and they are a baby they get one extra layer than I do. So if I am outside in t-shirt and jeans, they wore t-shirt, pants and a thin jacket. I always tossed a blanket in the diaper bag and if their torso felt cool, I put it on. Don't judge your baby's temp by his arms and legs. Baby's circulation isn't fully developed and their arms and legs always feel cool. Good luck with your new baby :) it's a scary to be a new mom, trust yourself, you will be just fine! Enjoy!

Does anyone know of any stores that sell *nice* newborn sized outfits that can be used for coming home? Sex is unknown. I had purchased exactly what I wanted for my son's coming home clothes at the Bay (I'm in Canada btw), but I was naive and didn't know any better, so I bought a size 0-3 month (which was HUGE on him). However, it was exactly what I had wanted (pale yellow Classic Pooh) and it was put away for him in his memory box.

I am keeping my eyes open for something that I really like for this next babe (due Sept), but can't find anything not so 'plain jane'. I know Gagou Tagou has preemie/newborn clothes, but I'm not a huge fan. I will get something like that in a pinch, but if you have any other suggestions I'd appreciate it!

Canadian stores would be much appreciated, but I'm flexible!

oohh....how did I forget Sears!! Baby B you rock!! My son had a bunch of newborn stuff from there and it was so cute!! There are 2 in particular that were my favs!! I know its silly (and normally I am very frugal), but this is just that *one* outfit special for them!! New baby will not wear Lucas' coming home etc. Those are theirs only. Hand-me-downs are fantastic and I love them, but this is one outfit I will pay a bit more for, and save.

Hey there, I'm in Canada, too. I have seen newborn at The Gap, Babies 'R' Us and Sears. My son was too big for any of the newborn sized clothes we had for him, so I won't ever buy newborn in the future. I'm destined to have big babies. At least you've got lots of time to look.

I don't know where you are, but in Ottawa, there's tons of little baby boutiques that have great stuff. Check in your area to see if you can find something like that, especially if you're looking for something special.

Walmart, Target, Babies R Us, and Carter's outlet stores. We got my sons going home outfit at Target. Size NB was so big on him too.

I live in Michigan and am due in January. Most likely we will have a couple inches of snow on the ground.

I have sleep stacks, swadlers, long onesies, fuzzy warm onesies, hats, blankets, and a fabric cover that goes over the car seat. What should I take to the hospital when I go into labor for baby to come home in??

Probably, you will have someone warming up the car, right? So the trick is getting the baby from the hospital to the car. I also hope that the someone would be pulled up right in front of the entrance to the hospital, so this is a quick run. I would put the baby in a onesie, then a sleeper (maybe fleece if you have it). You'll need a warm blanket (and the hospital will likely provide a little flannel blanket). A hat will be important, but you want stuff that you can take off once you get the baby in the car. You don't want the baby to get too hot once inside the car. As long as someone else is driving, sit in the backseat with the baby so you can judge how hot or cold the area is. I tried to sit in the back with my daughter for several months. It also helped me attend to her needs without trying to hop over the front seat or twist around and distract the driver.

Some Native American tribes used to dip their babies in icy lakes during the winter so they'd get used to the cold. So I suspect your baby will survive the few minutes of exposure to the cold if you have him/her wrapped up. :)
