And also how big was your baby? I bought a few newborn size clothes and also quite a few 0-3 month clothes, my MIL the other day was telling me that was dumb because if I have a big baby (which my doctor already confirmed I more then likely will) he wont even fit into the newborn size and probably wont fit into the 0-3, then she went onto say how her friends daughters had a big baby (9 pounds 9 ounces) didnt fit into anything except 6-9 month outfits since she was born, so now I am freaking out cause I am not sure if I still have the receipts and I've already started washing them. I only have like 3-4 newborn size, quite a few 0-3 month, quite a few 3-6 month sizes and hardly any 6-9 months yet. Is she right?
I was a 9 pound 8 ounce baby I havent asked my mother yet if I fit into newborn size or 0-3 month...oh and then I was telling my MIL how the I think 0-3 month says it fits up to 18 pounds and she started laughing and saying how the tags are never right and they would never fit an 18 pound baby and how nieve I was being :(

my newborn was 9 lbs 0-3mo fit him "like a glove also". within about 4-5 wks they were too small he is still in 3-6 mo at 3 months and 16 lbs but again at the "like a glove" point so I don't expect them to last much longer.

I know that's a repeated & boring question, but am expecting a baby girl in 10 days or so.. & I bought her 8 infant outfits(all footed bodysuits)since she'll be a winter baby, plus 21 (0-3 months) different outfits..most of them two pieces.
Do you think this is too much for a newborn, Did i overdo clothes shoping for her? or is this just the norm??
P.S. my baby weighed 6lb 9 oz 10 days ago.. PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ help me...ASAP, cuz if it's too much clothes.. gotta go return some back before i get into labor:)

You probably only need 6 of the footed bodysuits in the newborn size if you are doing laundry every at least 2-3 days. Then get another 6 in the next size. The 21 outfits are too many, change that to 4-5 outfits of each size progressing from newborn on. Don't cut any tags off of any outfits except for the ones that you are using immediately and save those receipts. That way you can still return or exchange them if the seasons change before she is able to wear them. Those ultrasound baby weights aren't real accurate, but they do grow the fastest during the first 6 weeks and many babies cannot use 0-3 months after that.

I'm in a parenting class and have a project that i was given to do on baby clothes.
So i was wondering what kind of clothes that a new mom should buy for her baby.
any advice?

Tons of short sleeved onesies. You can't have too many as they will need to be changed often. I would buy 0-3 mo vs newborn size since many babies these days are too big for NB at birth. Mine was 7lb 4oz and 19 1/4 in and is on the verge of outgrowing NB at just one week old. Also the sleepers with zippers are handy too (better than snaps).

Where can I find baby boy clothes that AREN'T cover in cars/puppy's/dinosaurs? It seems like all the newborn/infant boy clothes I find are trying too hard to be cute. Does anyone know of a brand or store that sells clothes that look cute but don't have stupid little creatures on them? I'm looking for normal looking clothes that just happen to be really small lol. Thanks

haha! When you find out what store carries these, let me know if they have clothes for girls that won't compare my daughter to food. She isn't daddy's little cupcake.
